Map sending made easy for USA operators
4/02/2012
Wireless data sending since 2006
Not well known outside of New Zealand, but TracMap has been
sending maps from remote vehicles since 2006. Over that time we
have learnt a lot about how to make the process simple and
reliable.
We now have that capability in the aerial GPS systems available
in USA and Canada. Just recently we added Verizon to join AT&T
as our provider options.
For people operating aircraft remote from their home base, the
advantages are significant. It means map templates can be sent
direct to aircraft without relying on email and USB upload.
Likewise, no need to rely on tired pilots having to download their
coverage onto USB for emailing back to the office.
Live Tracking
It also means you can have live tracking of aircraft locations,
which is a great safety and logistics benefit.
Easiest System
And the nice thing about TracMap's system - people who have seen
it tell us it is easier and simpler than anything else they have
seen.
When you have been doing it for 6 years, what else do you
expect!
The photo shows an example screen shot of the ordering process,
which uses Google Earth as the base mapping system.
