TracMap wins accolades in global competition
Our innovative new search and rescue system with the potential for saving lives and provide significant time savings until rescue has been recognised internationally
27/10/2011
TracMap has developed the new
GPS-based search and rescue system, which allows the most effective
search patterns to be created by aircraft, boats or land based
vehicles significantly improving the accuracy of searching large
areas.
This innovation has been recognised
by the Global Security Challenge, an international competition
which looks for new technologies and innovations that address
global challenges in security. The annual challenge event attracts
the world's most exciting technology companies in the sector, as
well as hundreds of key industry representatives.
TracMap entered its GPS system in
the 2011 Global Security Challenge, and was narrowly beaten earlier
this week in London during the finals, judges commenting it was a
close contest amongst TracMap and two other regional titleholders.
In the end the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) winner was Agnitio
SL from Spain, developer of technology to identify individuals
through voice recognition.
TracMap had initially won the
regional SME Award at the Asia Pacific section of this year's
Challenge in Sydney in August, which qualified it for the Global
Finals alongside businesses from the UK, Europe, US East and West
Coast and the Middle East.
TracMap Managing Director Colin
Brown said the international exposure from presenting to the global
finals was huge. "It's been a massive week for us; the profile and
reputation we've gained from getting into the finals was
considerable, but we also got very positive feedback and made some
invaluable contacts from those attending, so the benefits will be
on-going. Our innovations are now well and truly on the map."
